I'm sharing the last bento I made for Chinese New Year. This one is not so festive, but it's Chinese New Year inspired, since this year is the year of the sheep.

Sheep Cookie & Hello Kitty Bento
Happy Chinese New Year, I wish you good health and happiness in the Year of the Sheep. :) My kitchen has been closed since wednesday, happy to take a break from cooking and washing up, lol. My boys are going back to school tomorrow, so my kitchen will be open again, feeling a little lazy after the short break though.

Sheep Hot Pot and Noodles
I'm suffering from a lack of sleep since school started, been surviving on 4-5 hours of sleep every weekday, slightly longer on weekends. :( Not that I don't want to sleep, I still have work not done, so I would wake up again after my boys sleep, sign. However, I think age is catching up with me, I felt dizzy last night before bedtime, and it was so difficult keeping my eyes open today while driving. I ended up taking cat naps twice in the car while waiting for my boys to be dismissed. It's going to be busier next week as IT tournament is going to start, but I enjoy watching him and his teammates at their matches. I hope I can still find some time to make food art and update the blog.

Animal Palz Pocket Sandwich
LT had a class party on his last day of school last week. It also marks the end of his kindergarten, as he will be moving on to primary school next year. It was a potluck party and the kids were asked to bring along food to share.
I decided to pack mini bentos for LT and his friends. I woke up early that day to get these ready.
Thanks to my Animal Palz, it was a breeze making these cute pocket sandwiches.
I added in some fried chicken for the kids too. LT insisted everyone gets a panda pocket sandwich, as it's his favourite in the set.
I had quite a lot of leftover bread after making the pocket sandwiches, so I made breadcrumbs with them. I am sharing the recipe at the end of this post.
I often get questions asking me what I do with leftover bento food cut outs, I actually wrote a post 2 years back on what I do with them. You can check out the post HERE. I will try to update that post with more recipes for leftover bread in future.
I made a pork cutlet using my homemade breadcrumbs last week. :)
HOMEMADE BREADCRUMBS

- Cut your bread into thin strips.
- Lay them on an oven tray and toast at 130 degrees celsius for around 15 minutes, or till the bread are dry. Do not brown them.
- Grind them in a blender till fine.
- When they are completely cool, you can store them in a zip lock bag in the fridge. You can store them in the freezer if you want to keep them longer.

Farm Bento
I'm joining a bento hop tomorrow, and my bento post will be up later than usual. This Friday is a School holiday, so I won't be making any bentos. However, I'm making a picnic bento on Saturday, so I'll do a post over the weekend. :)
Bento Berries has kindly sponsored these cupcake rings for today's bentos. I thought the chickens and sheeps toppers were perfect for my farm house bento today. :)
Farm house made out of crabstick and fence are bread crust.
For lunch, they had rice, broccoli, prawn paste wings and strawberries. :)
Farm House made out of bread. Added grapes and prawn paste wings as well.
I packed a frozen drink in their lunch box. I always put a frozen drink in their lunch bag, but this is the first time I'm putting it in their lunch box directly.
Salad again for my dinner yesterday, this time I added in portobello.
Lunch today, rice, minced pork/egg, prawn paste wings and pickled cucumbers. :)

Shaun the Sheep and Pig
I finally got a bigger bento box for the boys that can fit in their dinner. I made this bento for their dinner last nite. I wanted to do some bentos that will help to recall the memorable parts of our trip. I decided to start with Sheep and Piggy, two of the many animals they saw during our holiday. :)
That's Shaun the sheep for IT, in the box are mixed grained rice, braised wings, broccoli and salmon belly.
Pig for LT, he's having the same food as above. I accidentally used red coloring for the cheese, which explains why the top portion of piggy is red.
Their 2 bentos for last nite. :) I'm sharing about the sheep, goats and pigs we saw in this post.
We stayed at Leofoo resort Guanshi for 2 nites, more on that in another post next time. These goats were at the back of the resort.
This goat was very greedy, the boys refused to feed him. lol.
LT giving him a lecture on not snatching food from your fellow goats. :P
This was on another day, on our way up to the mountains. The driver uncle that took us around was really nice, he brought us here to feed the piggies. :) He even paid for the 2 bottles of milk.
You have to hold the bottle tight, coz the pigs will just pull them away.
LT was upset, coz the piggies pulled away his bottle! After some pacifying, he fed the pigs with IT's bottle. It was amusing watching the piggies fighting and biting one another.
LT teaching the pigs a lesson this time.
This is the place we stayed in the mountains. I'm in love with the sign boards in Taiwan, they are all so cutee! :)
The lovely place we stayed, the rooms were huge and comfy. It was foggy that day.
They provide congee breakfast every morning. Very simple fare, but extremely tasty and homely.
We went to the sheep farm for a visit. LT saying hello to the sheep.
They have such pretty eyelashes.
See, even the recycle bins are so cute! :)
There were lots of spider webs everywhere. So beautiful and delicate.
