Cat Pizza

I'm moving the part I wrote about our founding father to the previous post HERE instead, I think it's more appropriate for that part to be over there. I was not in the mood to update the blog last week, spent whatever free time I had following news and updates about our founding father, as well as catching old videos I missed out about him. Today is a new week and a new start. I'm finally updating my blog today with these cat pizzas I  made for my boys a few weeks ago.

CuteZCute Robo Bread

Sorry for the lack of updates, had a crazy week, something unpleasant happened as well, hiaz, don't feel like talking about it. :(  Next week will be even busier, but things should get slightly better for me after that. I know some of you want the recipe for my steamed buns, I will get one of the buns recipe updated next week. Meanwhile, if you want to make something cute for Chinese New Year, you might want to click HERE to check out my piggy pineapple tarts recipe from last year. The same post has instructions to shape bunny and panda pineapple tarts too.

CutezCute Piggy and Panda

It's back to school again yesterday, the last term of the year, can't believe time flies so fast. My boys are growing up too fast!

IMG_1714
This ham piggy adds instant cuteness to your food. I used the piggy cutter from CuteZCute Animal Friends cutter and the body cutter from Cuddle Palz.

IMG_1727
I then added on eyes and mouth punched out from nori, cut out a little tail from ham, and dabbed on some ketchup.

IMG_1726
And viola, the food art is done, ultra fast to make. I used it on top of pasta here, but you can use it to decorate your rice, sandwich, salad, etc.

IMG_1734
The pasta underneath was Tom Yum seafood pasta, a current favourite with IT, he loves eating this.

IMG_1453
Here's another idea, a nutella panda sandwich. This time, I used the panda cutter from Animal Friends with the body cutter from Cuddle Palz.

IMG_1461
I used the body cutter to cut out another arm and tail and spread them with nutella for the contrast. Not very smooth as my nutella is drying up. -_-

Cuddle Palz Bento

Thought I better do up a post today, as I'll be busy watching Korean dramas the next few days, most the shows I'm catching currently happens to be airing on wednesday and thursday, lol.  More Cuddle Palz creations to share, not exactly bento, as none of them were packed in a box.

 IMG_1553
Instant cuteness to tortilla chips, with the help of Cuddle Palz. I got this awesome idea from Kathy of Eclectic Lamb and I used the recipe Rebecca from Bentos on the Bayou shared on her blog. A shout-out to Kendra from Biting The Hand That Feeds You as well, as she was the first blogger who used CuteZCute to cut out tortilla chips. :) Do check out their blog for lots more lunch packing ideas. :)

IMG_1548
I made some salsa for my boys to dip their tortilla chips in, but I think most of the salsa went into my tummy, they were happy to just munch on the chips.

IMG_1702
Instead of using the usual burger bun for burger, I decided to use bread instead. I cut out the bread using Cuddle Palz and placed it on top of a beef patty, lettuce and cheese.

IMG_1699
Sandwich burger was served with fries and asparagus soup.

IMG_1697
Not sure if you noticed, I placed the beef patty directly underneath the bread, the dark brown patty brought out the Koala's features perfectly.

IMG_1876
The last food art I'm sharing today is this bear sandwich. :)

IMG_1873
Made this for IT's snack, he eats a lot these days and is almost as tall as me, just a few centimetres short. In case you are wondering, I'm not that tall, but not exactly short either. I'm 5 feet 3, he's almost 5 feet 2 and only 10 years old.

IMG_1872
Bear was a nutella sandwich, which he ate with carrot soup. I still have more CuteZCute creations, will update them next time. :)

Cuddle Palz Hamster & Tiger

Have you joined my CuteZCute Cuddle Palz giveaway on Instagram? It's closing after today, if you would like to take part, you can still click HERE to join now. The Cuddle Palz cutter is so easy to use, I made quite a few creations using it. I'll share two in this post and I'll leave the rest for future posts, don't wanna squeeze too many photos in one post.

IMG_1367
The next animal I tried out using Cuddle Palz was the hamster. She has heart shaped ears, how adorable.

IMG_1356
Did not take much effort to make this bento box, I merely added on a bow for the cutie hamster, and cut out 2 ovals from ham using the eyes of the tiger cutter.

IMG_1375
This snack box was filled with grapes, strawberries, lettuce and chicken tsukune.

IMG_1281
This was a last minute idea, I had cooked tomato soup that day, so I thought I should just add in a quick decor using the Cuddle Palz.

IMG_1287
I chose the tiger cutter, used it to cut out the wrap and toasted it in the oven for a while before placing on the soup. I hope you like these two kawaii animals from Cuddle Palz, have a good weekend! :)

CuteZcute Cuddly Palz Review

I am so excited to share with you about the new sandwich cutter from CuteZCute. I believe most of you would have already seen it on their site. This new cutter is called Cuddle Palz and works the same way as their very popular Animal Friends cutter.

IMG_1234
The cutter is very easy to use and can help you make a kawaii bento box in a few minutes.

IMG_1238
Cuddle Palz is a seven piece set which consists of 1 head cutter, 1 body cutter, 4 different stamps/cutters (koala, tiger, hamster and bear) and a very cute koala food pick. This set can gives you up to 40 different combinations. Cuddle Palz can be used on bread, cheese, wraps, fruits, pancakes, dough, etc. They are endless possibilities on what you can use them on.

IMG_1327
All four Cuddle Palz animals are very cute, but my favourite has got to be the koala. The branch by the side is from leftover bread crust. Don't throw away your cut outs, you can keep and use them to make bread crumbs, recipe HERE.

IMG_1331
I decided to add on a baby koala. The head of the baby koala was cut out using the nose of the koala cutter, his ears and hands were from the eyes of the bear cutter.

IMG_1379
Can you see the koala food pick in the bento box at the back? This pick comes with the set and you can use it to remove small cut outs from the cutters. It can double as a kawaii decoration to your bento box too.

IMG_1384
I'm holding a Cuddle Palz giveaway over at my Instagram. You can click HERE to join. Giveaway opens internationally and will close on this coming Friday. :)

Animal Palz Pocket Sandwich

LT had a class party on his last day of school last week. It also marks the end of his kindergarten, as he will be moving on to primary school next year. It was a potluck party and the kids were asked to bring along food to share.

IMG_9920
I decided to pack mini bentos for LT and his friends. I woke up early that day to get these ready.

IMG_9914
Thanks to my Animal Palz, it was a breeze making these cute pocket sandwiches.

IMG_9912
I added in some fried chicken for the kids too. LT insisted everyone gets a panda pocket sandwich, as it's his favourite in the set.

IMG_9940
I had quite a lot of leftover bread after making the pocket sandwiches, so I made breadcrumbs with them. I am sharing the recipe at the end of this post.

I often get questions asking me what I do with leftover bento food cut outs, I actually wrote a post 2 years back on what I do with them. You can check out the post HERE. I will try to update that post with more recipes for leftover bread in future.

IMG_9937
I made a pork cutlet using my homemade breadcrumbs last week. :)

HOMEMADE BREADCRUMBS

Ingredients:
Slices of stale bread, bread trimmings and/or bread crusts.

Method:
  1. Cut your bread into thin strips.
  2. Lay them on an oven tray and toast at 130 degrees celsius for around 15 minutes, or till the bread are dry. Do not brown them.
  3. Grind them in a blender till fine.
  4. When they are completely cool, you can store them in a zip lock bag in the fridge. You can store them in the freezer if you want to keep them longer.
