Star Wars Angry Bird Bento

It's May the 4th today and it's Star Wars Day. In celebration of Star Wars Day , I'm joining a blog hop with my fellow Bento Bloggers and Friends. My boys had been asking for Star Wars Angry Birds for their bentos. So, I grabbed this opportunity to make them some. They took a long time to finish this meal because they were too busy playing with the light saber picks and Angry Birds. -_-


Red bird is Luke Skywalker, Yellow bird is Han Solo and Pink bird is Princess Leia. Bento is packed with onigiri coloured with deco furi, ginger pork, broccoli and strawberries. The Angry Birds details were done with beanskin, nori, bread, ham and cheese.

These did not quite turned out the way I expected. Initially, I was rather upset and even forgot to add in my Star Wars picks. :( However, my boys saw their snacks and said it's very nice. That made me feel a whole lot better, since it's good enough for me that they are happy with it.


I also made Chewbacca and Obi-wan Kenobi Angry Birds sandwiches for my boys.


They were both made from multi-grained bread. I added on a layer of cheese and nori for Obi-wan Kenobi and his cape is sweet beanskin.

Angry Bird Halloween Bento

A piece of good news to share. Bento Berries is having a very attractive bento giveaway the stuff are really kawaii. I'm sharing here so that I can join the giveaway, lol. :P And also to inform you to join in too. :) Remember to check it out, it's open to all countries. :)

The bentos today were requested by my boys. They showed me Angry Birds Halloween and asked whether I could do something similar. :)


Angry Birds are fishcake my mum bought for my boys from the market. Lol, I've wanted to use them for some time, save me the trouble of making the Angry Birds. :P Pigs are made from pandan bread, cheese and wrap.


Their lunch boxes are packed with multi-grained rice, broccoli, teriyaki meatballs and grapes.


Similar decor for their snack boxes. :P The cheese broke as I was cutting it out. :(


I packed black glutinuous bread, teriyaki meatball and grapes for the snack box.

Odie, Angry Bird Sushi and Seal Bento

No, no, no, I did not make all those characters in my bento at the same time. I was to do another product review post for today, but I forgot to buy an important ingredient needed to finish off the last bento needed for the post. -_- So, I decided to consolidate the boys' snack bentos I've not been able to share for the past week. Be warn that they will look suspiciously familiar since I've already shared their lunch bentos during the week and their snack bentos are usually simplified versions of that. :P


This was for IT's Sports Day last wednesday. He had to report at 7.15 am that day. I did not bother packing him a charaben since my brain can't function that early in the morning. -_- LT skipped School for that day and we all went to support IT at Sports Day, I packed a similar box for him too.


Odie snack boxes for Tuesday. Jam sandwiches, chicken and grapes.


This was for Wednesday, Angry Bird sushi, grapes and salmon.


Lastly, seals on soba for today. Seals are made from quail eggs, I also packed grapes qand coriander wings. :)

Trudeau Fuel Snap Cutlery Sets Review

I'm reviewing Trudeau Fuel snap cutlery sets for today. The ones I have are the 3 piece snap cutlery sets, they also come in 2 piece with just the spoon and fork.


When I first received them, I had no idea how these work. I was wondering to myself why was there a need to have holes on the cutlery? Only later did I realised that this design helped the cutlery to clip together easily. How clever! :)

The cutlery sets looks fun and comes in 3 vibrant colours kids will love. I like stainless steel cutlery but they are usually not ergonomically designed for kids. These snap on cutlery sets are perfect for kids to use, the plastic handles makes it easy to hold on to. And just like the lunchboxes, they made from BPA free and eco- friendly materials and have a 5 year warranty.

I've tried out the Trudeau Fuel sandwich box again today, this time I've packed sushi in it. :) I've to say it works great for sushi too.


I had another design in mind for the sushi, but my boys requested for yellow angry birds. So yellow angry birds it shall be.


I've added minced egg yolk to the rice to get the yellow colour. Other food are salmon coated with cornmeal, broccoli, strawberries and grapes.


The covers close over the food nicely. Love the attached lid, there's no need to worry about losing your lids anymore. :)

Angry Bird Sushi Bento

The boys love having sushi dipped in soya sauce and I'm having fun creating characters out of them. This time I made red angry birds out of sushi. :)


For lunch, the boys had sushi with broccoli, chicken yakitori and strawberries.


Red rice is colored with beetroot. :)


For School, they had sushi, chicken yakitori and grapes.


The boys asked for the other colours angry birds. Lol, next time. :P

Angry Birds Bento

For the bento today, I actually pre-cut the cheese yesterday evening, coz I was worried I might not have enough time to do up the bento this morning. And it was a great idea, because I finished up the bentos really fast this morning. :) I asked the boys to choose the angry birds they wanted, had to limit their choices though, coz I do not want to make so many of those birds. :P


IT's bento, in the box are mix sandwiches(jam/ham/cheese/nutella), ngoh hiang and orange.


LT's bento, same items as IT's, except he gets grapes, instead of orange.


IT's bento, in the box are mix sandwiches and fishballs. Does it look like the angry bird guarding the eggs here? :)


And that's their bentos for today. I only realised I forgot the "circle" on top of black bird's head, after I'm done with the bento. So I just left it, must remember to add in when I make next time.


My lunch for today, in the box are chicken with baked beans and scallop/corn/asparagus in XO sauce.
