In fact, I almost wanted to forgo making this Snoopy Christmas bento today. I was doing another bento for a bento project before this and the sky was turning dark when I was done. But I had already cooked the ingredients for this and did not want to waste them, so I quickly rushed this out. I made a last minute decision to leave Woodstock out so I can complete this faster. But somehow, the bento looks a little incomplete without Woodstock.
Ingredients used for Snoopy Santa were rice, nori, crabstick, hanpen and egg. Hanpen is a Japanese ingredient, similar to our fish cake.
The side dishes for this bento were cheese coated fish fillet, corn and broccoli stir-fried with mushrooms. I also added in some of my Christmas pasta bought last year, I bought some new designs this year, but yet to open the pack! I also bought some Christmas food picks this trip, but did not get to use them, looks like I've to keep them till next year, sign. :(
Here's wishing all of you a Merry Christmas in advance. Sorry for the lack of blog updates this holiday, will try to blog a little more often when my boys go back to school again.
Where to get same or similar items in today's bento:
Merry Christmas!!

DeleteSuper kawaii! Sounds like me when I am rushing to complete a bento before dark so that I can get a decent photo. Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays!
ReplyDeleteYou are so insanely talented! Saw you in the Sydney Morning Herald and couldn't believe how beautiful your food looks (and very tasty). Someone really should hire you to design food for magazines. Well done!
ReplyDeleteAwww, thank you, wish I could see the article.
