I was debating between Hello Kitty Pirate and Rilakkuma Pirate for my bento, finally decided on Rilakkuma, I think I'll save Hello Kitty Pirate for next year, lol. The sides in the box behind are fried chicken cutlets, grapes and strawberries.
Rilakkuma is rice coloured with some dark soya sauce. The map is a recycled idea from my Pirate bento last year. :P The treasure chest is made from inari sushi, egg sheet, cheese and ham.
I made a bread version for my boys' snacks. The Pirate ship is bread spread with nutella and peanut butter, the skull is made from cheese and nori.
Rilakkuma's head is made from a bread bun and his bandana is cut out from a peach.
Now, are you ready for some pirate blog hopping adventure. Step onboard Black Bread's Revenge, sail over to Eats Amazing and check out the awesome pirate bento First Mate Grace has made . After ye've sailed 'round this hop, hang on to yer sea legs! Click 'ere to board t'next ship fer another hop!
