I made these Mickey and Minnie mouse mummies onigiris for LT's lunch today. The box is packed with chicken yakitori, broccoli and strawberries.
Bread version of the mummies for LT's snack. I also included chicken yakitori and grapes. I did not pack any bentos for IT, I brought him out for sashimi instead, lol. :)

Yes, they do eat their food cold. I only pack n close when the fd has cooled down, tt way the fd will be safe for consumption few hrs later. N if stuff like mayo, cheese is used, I include ice pack or frozen packet drink as well, so fd is still cool at recess.

DeleteThose mummies are so sweet and I adore your bento photography. I am having the hardest time getting good lighting and getting the right aperature for showing everything in the lunches without making the pic too dark. Any tips?
ReplyDeleteRachel, I do rely on good natural lighting because I'm clueless how to get good pics under indoor lighting. I take my pics on the ledge beside the window, n shoot at aperture bet 2.8 to 4. I do sometimes further brighten the photos on my notebk b4 I post them. :)
DeleteI agree with Deb, Love this Sooooooooooooo much!! So creative. LOVE IT!

DeleteThey look like they want to say something. I think it's "Eat me…!!" LOL!! And yes, I also want to know your photography secrets ;D
ReplyDeleteLol. :) I really dun hv any secret, I rely all on good natural lighting. I take my photo on the ledge beside the window, using a large aperture. :)
DeleteTk u, Cristi. :)
ReplyDeleteAs always, your lunches are AMAZING! Each one is a work of art I don't know how you let your kids eat! haha! And really beautiful photography. I wish I had lots of natural lighting - somehow my house is very dark - not that mine pix would turn out like yours even with! :)
ReplyDeleteTk u very much, Christine. :) My hse is dark too, but just beside the window is fine. Lol, I really rely all on natural lighting. For eg, if I want to share something fr dinner, I actually start cooking a little earlier so I can get my shot b4 sun set. :)
DeleteI know I told you on IG, but the details in these are artistry. And I agree that your photography is always top notch. Such beautiful lunches!
