I made doggies out of bread and onigiri today, saw the idea online. I took some step-by-step pictures, hope they are useful. :)
Doggies onigiris for lunch.
With salmon, broccoli, golden kiwis and strawberries.
Boys' bentos for School, sandwiches with fillings they chose, salmon and grapes.
Close up of one box.
This is the mould I'm using for the onigiri version. If you do not have one, you can also shape the rice using your hand. The subsequent steps are taken from the bread version instead, but the way to do it is the same.
Slice off the crusts and keep them. :)
Cut bread into half and stack them up, spread fillings in between.
I used this cutter to cut out the ears from the bread crusts.
And oval and round cutters for the mouth. If you do not have this, look for varying size straws, squeeze the straw to get ovals.
Cut out the eyes from nori, and the cheeks from ham. Stick all the parts using mayo or any sticky spread.
Completion! :)
