Relaxing Rilakkuma Bento

Ok, I'm embarassed to say that I woke up late again today. After doing up the lunch box, I had not enough time to do up the snack box, so it was a quick change of plans and a simpler box.

I just received my takoyaki pan in the mail today. I made a batch last night and kept some for the boys' snack boxes today. They love takoyaki and said mine tasted the same as those sold outside. But it was not true, my takoyaki texture and shape is not right, I've not gotten the hang of it yet.

Bento for IT, in the box are rice (yellow rice was coloured with pumpkin powder), egg, miso chicken , strawberries, grapes and sausages.

Bento for LT, same food as above. I hid the cut out egg white under the egg. :P

Bento for LT, same food as above. No time to decorate these two boxes, so just a fast crabby sausage and a Rilakkuma pick.

I love Rilakkuma. :)

Kimchi and chicken pizza for me. :)

I did a short tutorial for the crabby sausage after sending the boys to School.

Boil sausage, slice it into half. One sausage can make two crabbies. :)

IMG_9520
Cut into 3 portions. Leave the middle section aside first.

IMG_9522
Now, cut a V at the ends of the other 2 sausages.

IMG_9523
Attach them onto the middle section using pasta.

IMG_9524
Cut out 2 circles for the eyes, with a cutter.

IMG_9526
I'm using these 2 punchers to get the eyes and mouth.

Attach on the eyes with pasta. Then use fried pasta for the legs. You can just shallow fry the pasta in a little oil. I'm not too good with explaining, so I hope the pictures helps. :)

  11. Hi Ming,
I absolutely love your bentos! They're so beautifully made, your kids are truly blessed! :)

I'm starting to make bento for my 2.5 yo girl, I'm wondering whether it's safe to use the pasta to attach the details? Is there other alternatives if I don't use pasta? Thank you!

    1. Tk u very much, Mrs Yap. :) Yes, it's safe, use angel hair pasta of slightly thicker pasta, they will soften by the time the kids eat them. For thicker pasta, you can fry them to be on the safe side. :)
