We took a family photo with Woody Woodpecker at Universal Studios, so I decided to make him for today. The boys know nothing about this Woodpecker, except his name. I guess he's more from my generation, I remembered watching his cartoon when I was little, lol. :)
I tried out the natural colour powder I ordered online. The colours were more intense last nite, it faded to a ligher shade this morning. And the red and blue were actually shades of purple. Overall, I'm quite happy with it. :) I bought gel colours as well, will test that out next week. :)
IT's bento for recess, in the box are cheese sandwich, chicken and grapes.
LT's bento for School, same food as above, except he wanted butter/sugar bread. I always ask them what spread they want and will do as per their order. :P
IT's lunch bento, in the box are rice, pork rolls, teriyaki chicken and strawberries.
LT's lunch bento, same food as above.
The boys' bentos for today. :)
And these were what I used to colour the cheese. The bottles behind are writing chocolate. Yet to try those out. All from Chocolate Craft Studio.
Teriyaki chicken, tumeric fish, rice and spinach for me. :)

So cute! I remember Woody and think you got his features perfectly! The natural colors are quite pretty. Where they expensive?
ReplyDeleteThe colours are not expensive but the shipping was, so I max it out by ordering the writing chocolate.
DeleteOh Woody the Woodpecker! I watched him a few times when I was little. I think I was the last generation to watch him before he faded away with all the other older cartoon characters. I know my 7 year old niece only knows about the Flintstones because of the Pebbles Cereal and the kid's Vitamins.
ReplyDeleteMy boys dun know him too except his name, coz they saw the mascot at universal studios. Oh yes, I remembered Flintstones! Used to be my fav n I used to use pebbles as my nick. I must make a Flintstone theme bento. :)
DeleteWoody is super cute! I have not used colors before and very tempted to try these as they are natural. Is it easy to color? I love how the color turned out, perfect:)
ReplyDeleteYes they are, I used a paint brush(4 fondant) to paint on the colours n just dab off excess with paper towels. Check out John's lunch bag 4 her review on these colours.
DeleteSo so cute!! :)
ReplyDeleteTks, Jenn. :)
DeleteThanks so much for the link to the natural coloring. I've been searching for a natural way to color food. I've tried India Tree food coloring, but the color changes after about an hour (the pink keeps turning to light purple - weird). Do these natural food colors fade or change color at all? I'm very interested in giving them a try!
ReplyDeleteHmmm, they did fade as well, the colour were more intense when I applied the nite b4, it faded to a lighter shade in the morning. And the red n blue were shades of purple instead, but they din change colour, just fade to a lighter shade.
DeleteWoody is so cute! You did a good job. :)
