This is an overdue request. The boys got hooked on Spongebob cartoon in Taiwan and they requested for a Spongebob bento then. I've no idea why I did not make one for them earlier, somehow it just got shoved down my to do bento list. :P So, I'm glad I finally made this for them before Term 1 ends. :)
IT's bento for recess, in the box are butter/sugar sandwich, ham, cheese, ebikko pork rolls and grapes.
LT's bento for School, same food as above, except he had strawberry sandwich.
LT's bento, in the box are onigiri, ebikko pork rolls, carrot/asaparagus roll, strawberries and blueberries.
IT's bento, same food as above, except I've added in grapes, coz I've more space to fill for this bento. :P
The boxes for today. :)
Salted yolk prawns, ebikko pork rolls and asparagus/corn for me. Quite a lot of cholesterol in the box today. :P

I want the bento too!!! I really envy ur sons!!! Do u want an over-aged daughter?? just kidding. Patrick is my favourite character too & I simply love the way u create him using the ham & rice. Emily
ReplyDeleteLol, Tks. I've always wanted a gal, so I can doll her up n buy all those sweet cutie stuff. :)
DeleteOh Wow Ming! You're amazing day after day! I hate Sponge Bob, but these are BEAUTIFUL!! I want these bentos too! What is Ebikko pork? Not that I wouldn't wolf it down in seconds anyway but I'd love to learn!
ReplyDeleteTks, Berrygirl. It's inspired fr this mentaiko tonkatsu tt we like fr a restaurant. It's easy, just hammer flat pork loin, season with salt/pepper. Then add cod roe and mayo, wrap up. Lastly coat with flour, egg and bread crumbs n fry.
DeleteGood Lord, that sounds so delicious...my goodness!
DeleteThey are way too cute! I have to try making Partick as he is easier to make. N was into Spongebob when he was in Kindergarten and now the song 'Spongebob Square Pants' is playing in my head :)
ReplyDeleteTks, Rina! Lol, yah, the song is very catchy. :) looking forward to see ur patrick. :)
Deletethese are fantastic!! puts my spongebob bento to shame!!
ReplyDeletethose prawns sound and look fantastic too. :)
Awwwwww, tks Keeley, you are too kind, I did not get to see yours but I'm sure they looked great! :)
DeleteHi there, I chance upon your blog because I love making bentos too! My boyfriend loves Patrick so I'm trying to make him one! May I know how did you make the rice pink? Thanks!!! You are great :)
ReplyDeleteTk u very much! It's called deco furi, from daiso, used to colored rice. :)
DeleteI will be heading down to my local daiso tmr!!! Thanks for the information! Btw, are you from Singapore? :)
DeleteYes, I am. :)
DeleteHi! I went to two of the Daiso(Vivo City and Bukit Panjang Plaza) but could not find it :( Do you still remember where you bought the deco furi? Sorry for the trouble!!!! Thanks!!!!
DeleteI usually go Vivo n got it there. But they do not always have stock. Or you can try Medi-ya, they have it too at the furikake section, another brand n slightly more ex than Daiso.
DeleteOr since you only need pink, you can also buy Sakura denbu, can find in supermkts.
DeleteSupermarkets like NTUC? Thanks for your reply! :)
DeleteI saw at NTUC finest n cold storage, not sure if the regular NTUC has. Its usually with the jap stuff at chiller section or sushi there. Another place that carry is those Japanese marts.
DeleteThanks! I will be heading to meidi-ya tmr! Your replies are very appreciated!
